ACCOMMODATIONS OUTSIDE THE NATIONAL PARK
RUAHA HILLTOP LODGE
Ruaha Hilltop Lodge is located on a hillside approximately 15 kilometres from the entrance to Ruaha National Park. Its elevated position provides wide views across the surrounding landscape.
The lodge offers individual cottages, a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and a large terrace. It is our preferred affordable option for travellers who want a comfortable base outside the park.

TANDALA TENTED CAMP
Tandala Tented Camp is situated in a quiet natural setting outside Ruaha National Park, close to the park boundary. It provides a traditional tented safari atmosphere while remaining within easy reach of the park.

The camp offers spacious en-suite safari tents, a swimming pool and a waterhole that can attract wildlife. Tandala is a good option for travellers who prefer a smaller tented camp without paying the higher prices of the camps deep inside the park.

RUAHA RIVER LODGE
Ruaha River Lodge occupies a beautiful position beside the Great Ruaha River. Its spacious en-suite stone bandas are spread along the riverbank, with private verandas overlooking the water and surrounding wilderness.

The lodge is larger and more traditional than Ruaha’s intimate tented camps, but its location makes it one of the most attractive and relatively affordable options inside the national park.​​
MWAGUSI SAFARI CAMP
Mwagusi Safari Camp is an established, owner-run camp beside the seasonal Mwagusi River. Founded in 1987, it has developed a strong reputation for its authentic atmosphere, experienced guiding and location in a productive wildlife area.

The spacious tented rooms are set beneath thatched structures and have private verandas overlooking the surrounding bush. Mwagusi is our preferred premium option for travellers seeking a classic Ruaha safari experience with plenty of character.

IKUKA SAFARI CAMP
Ikuka Safari Camp is positioned high on the Mwagusi Escarpment, with panoramic views across the Ruaha Valley. The elevated location is one of the camp’s defining features.

Its spacious open-fronted rooms combine natural materials, privacy and a high level of comfort. Ikuka is particularly suitable for couples, honeymooners and travellers looking for a small, owner-run luxury camp.

LABA JONGOMERO
Laba Jongomero is situated beside the seasonal Jongomero River in a remote southern section of Ruaha National Park. Its isolated location provides a particularly quiet and immersive wilderness experience.

The camp offers spacious raised tented suites and a high level of personalised service. Jongomero is best suited to travellers who want to spend several days in a remote area and are comfortable paying more for exclusivity and privacy.
MDONYA OLD RIVER CAMP
Mdonya Old River Camp is a traditional tented camp in a remote section of Ruaha National Park. It is positioned beside a seasonal sand river that is regularly used by wildlife moving through the area.
The camp offers simple but comfortable en-suite safari tents and a relaxed bush atmosphere. It is well suited to travellers who value location, wildlife and authenticity more than modern luxury.​​​

KIGELIA RUAHA
Kigelia Ruaha is a small tented camp situated beneath sausage trees in the wildlife-rich eastern part of the park. Its limited number of tents creates an intimate and peaceful atmosphere.

The camp deliberately keeps its design understated while maintaining a high level of service, food and guiding. Kigelia is ideal for travellers who prefer an authentic bush camp over a modern luxury lodge.

JABALI RIDGE
Jabali Ridge is built around a rocky outcrop overlooking Ruaha’s baobab-filled wilderness. Its architecture blends into the natural surroundings while offering one of the park’s highest levels of comfort.
