Kasaka Tours is a family-owned tour operator founded by John and Tassia in 2019. We live in Dar es Salaam with our two children, and Tanzania is not simply where we organise trips. It is our home.
We created Kasaka Tours from a shared love for Tanzania’s nature, wildlife, people and culture. Our aim is to help travellers feel genuinely connected to the country, not simply pass through it.
OUR STORY
Kasaka Tours began with a simple idea: to offer personal journeys that show travellers more of Tanzania than the busiest and best-known routes.
We wanted to build a company where every guest feels welcome, listened to and cared for. Whether you are planning your first safari, travelling with children, celebrating a honeymoon or looking for a more adventurous route, we take the time to understand what matters to you.
That personal connection remains at the heart of Kasaka Tours today.
A TEAM YOU CAN KNOW AND TRUST
We own our safari vehicles and work with the same regular drivers and guides. This gives our trips continuity and means we know the people accompanying our guests.
Our team brings practical local knowledge, safari experience and a genuine desire to share Tanzania. You are not passed anonymously from one company to another: your journey is organised by a Tanzania-based operator and delivered by people with whom we have established working relationships.
For us, trust starts with clear communication, realistic advice and personal attention before, during and after your trip.
WHY WE FOCUS ON SOUTHERN TANZANIA
Kasaka Tours organises trips throughout Tanzania, with a special focus on the southern circuit and the country’s lesser-visited regions.
Mikumi, Nyerere, Ruaha and Udzungwa offer wildlife, wilderness and varied activities without the intense tourist traffic found on some of Tanzania’s busiest routes. We also love combining safari with destinations such as Kilwa, the Uluguru and Usambara Mountains, Tanga, Pangani, Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia Island.
This focus allows us to create journeys that combine wildlife with mountains, coast, history, culture and local life.
YOUR TRIP, YOUR WAY
We do not believe every traveller should follow the same fixed package. Your dates, budget, group size, preferred comfort level and interests all shape the journey.
You can choose one of our suggested itineraries as a starting point or ask us to create something completely different. We can arrange trips beginning in Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar or elsewhere in Tanzania, including the necessary domestic transfers, ferry tickets and local flights.
Our goal is to recommend what really fits you, even when that means comparing a more affordable road journey with a faster but more expensive fly-in option.
TRAVEL IN A LANGUAGE THAT FEELS COMFORTABLE
Our standard tours and communication are offered in English. When travellers need additional language support, we can arrange interpreters, subject to availability.
Translation support may be available in languages including French, German, Spanish and Chinese. Tell us what you need when requesting your itinerary so we can discuss the available options.
A TANZANIA-REGISTERED TOUR OPERATOR
Kasaka Tours is fully registered as a tour operator in Tanzania and holds the permits required to operate legally.
We believe this matters. Travellers should know who is responsible for their journey, where the company is based and who will be there if plans need to change.
Our own safari vehicles, regular team and base in Dar es Salaam help us stay closely involved in the trips we organise.
